Newsweek reporter calls US armed forces mercenaries

boortz fairtax signing

"A brief note on last night's signing. One woman, a pharmaceutical salesman, bought about 40 copies of The FairTax Book. She will be leaving them with doctors as she makes her sales calls. This is the type of effort and dedication it will take."

yay!

blame republicans

RFK says perhaps Miss. gvnr offended God, bringing the hurricane.

good read.

from Neal Boortz:

"AND NOW SHE HAS NOTHING ...."

Yes .. the situation on the Gulf coast is terrible. It is beyond imagination for most of us. But let's not forget where we live [!!!we're so very lucky!!!]; let's not forget what America is all about. We're not all looters.

This morning I heard a TV anchor discussing the plight of some young woman named Natalie Brown. The anchor said that she fled the hurricane and left her house and her job, and now she has nothing.

Nothing?

First .. the obvious. She still has her health, her friends, her family, her education, her ambition, her car and her boyfriend. In fact, she's staying with her parents! Her bank accounts are still safe. The money is still there.

This means she "has nothing?"

Natalie Brown lives in America. She has now made the decision to relocate away from New Orleans. That she can do with relative ease. She lives in a country with a vibrant and growing economy; a country where hard work and good decision making will be rewarded. She gets to relocate and seek another job in a country that has embraced the one economic system that has lifted more people out of poverty than any other economic system in the history of civilization. She left a home she rented behind in New Orleans ... and is going to plant roots elsewhere in the greatest country in the world.

And she "has nothing?"

Tens of millions of people around the world would trade places with Natalie Brown right now. Today. Hurricane and all. Tell them that she has nothing.

protesting blue angels display

Neal Boortz: "Now I don't know about this particular air show, but the usual procedure is for the sponsors of the air show to cover the costs of the performance by the Blue Angels. The air show sponsors have to come up with enough cash to pay for the food and lodging of the entire Blue Angel team plus the fuel costs for flying all of the aircraft, including Fat Albert, to the site of the show. Several years ago I was privileged to take a ride in Blue Angel No. 7 piloted by USMC Capt. (now Major) Len Anderson. True to form, I immediately started catching hell from those who don't exactly like my positions on various subjects for "wasting the taxpayer's dollars." Then, as now, the expenses for that ride were covered by the sponsors of the air show."

manipulative appeals to idiots - brilliant!

From a moveon.org email...

"Simply put, eliminating the Estate Tax forces working Americans and our children to pick up a trillion dollar tab that used to be paid by the wealthy. President Bush and his allies in Congress are telling us it is more important for them to protect Paris Hilton's inheritance than to protect us."

responsibility

"If a 13-year-old wants to have an abortion, that's her decision and her parents shouldn't get a look-in. If a 21-year-old wants to drop to the broadloom in Bill Clinton's Oval Office, she's a grown woman and free to do what she wants. But, if a 22- or 25- or 37-year-old is serving his country overseas, he's a wee "child" who isn't really old enough to know what he's doing."

CONCESSION AND MUSIC — Anthony Farr, disabled army veteran (by a car bomb in Baghdad, from Bryant, Ark., but now living at Ft. Hood Hospital) is in charge the concession stand and music in the trailer next to Ft. Qualls.

This courageous soldier runs the stand next to Bush supporters' HQ in Crawford. bless him! I feel silly, but I'm incredibly glad to see African-American supporters of Bush.

Interrogation of Iraqi terrorist Ranzi Hashem Abed

Besides showing no apparent regard for the lives he took, this guy tells of using his daughter's name as his alias. as if he would have used his son's.

Interrogator: "You don't even know their real names?"

Abed: "No. For example, my name is Ramzi, right? They call me Abu Shema',
after my daughter."

Agh!

Hypocrisy

Michelle Malkin on Democrat's hypocrisy...Bush doesn't give enough funding for homeland security? our cities are still at risk? in NJ, 93% of federal homeland security $$ went to Democratic counties. don't know what %age of counties are democratic, which would explain for some of the swing.
