The TALF and the 'Public-Private Partnership are another slap in the face of the international community. They violate the spirit and the letter of the G-20 communique. It will be interesting to see if foreign holders of US Treasurys endure this latest insult in silence or if there's a sudden stampede for the exits. There's a sense that the world is getting fed up with the Fed's financial chicanery and would like to chart a different course. Enough is enough.

Check Engine Lights
Myths and Facts about them.
I have a 99 Toyota Solara...the check engine light stays on when it's housed in Gwinnett County, metro Atlanta. But when I drive back home to the mountains, it goes off! And we don't even require emissions tests here.
When we recently drove to Waynesville/Pisgah Forest area though, it came on again. And then turned back off upon returning to Jasper.
It's probably just traveling long distances but who knows.

First of all polls are ridiculous. I'm sure half of the people hardly knew or understood what they were agreeing to answer. But at least it's obvious to everyone that the current direction of our country needs to be reversed. Hopefully we can do something about it, but I just don't see it happening through legal reform. Was that seditious? God bless I hope not.

Drying things
These are orange peels. I'm making a really nice face scrub out of them + oats.We've also been making homemade beef jerky. OH WOW is it good. Once again, I have my mom to thank for the good ideas. She has also gotten me back into sprouting.

Local Jasper, GA Prayers
We're all saying prayers right now for Hans Rueffert, famous chef and son of the owners of the Woodbridge Inn in Jasper. Complications from his first cancer have sent him to Houston for treatment. Hans is such a positive, healthy person - I know he and his family will see him through this! If anyone deserves for their body to be strong enough to fight an illness, it is Hans.
Seeing a good person like Hans fighting cancer has been a great inspiration in my choice to continue trying to quit smoking as well.

The Woodbridge Inn is the first challenging restaurant job I've had in a long time. Plus we have great food and rates for lodging. and beautiful sculptures by Joe and Eino inside the building and around the grounds.
Seeing a good person like Hans fighting cancer has been a great inspiration in my choice to continue trying to quit smoking as well.
